Get Up! Stand Up! NAIDOC Poster

I designed this art piece to submit it into the NAIDOC Week Art Competition for 2023. The winners design would in theory be displayed all around town to advertise NAIDOC week. The theme was “Get Up,Stand Up”, I needed to create an art piece that reflected the meaning of that phrase.

Spiritual Safari

This art piece was something I chose to make to get my negative emotions out and channel it into art. This image is representing me trying to achieve my goal of keeping a job. The work environment of my first job at first seemed nice, but turned out to be discriminatory, cruel and dishonest. I had outside supports for my entire time there, but I didn’t end up keeping the job. Overall it was a learning experience for me, because I learnt not all workplaces are nice and I need to know how to stand up for myself and walk away if I’m being mistreated.
